Breast cancer

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK. It is important to check your breasts
regularly and get to know these signs:

• a new lump or area of thickened tissue in either breast that was not there before
• a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts
• a discharge of fluid from either of your nipples
• a lump or swelling in either of your armpits
• a change in the look or feel of your skin, such as puckering or dimpling, a rash or redness
• a rash (like eczema), crusting, scaly or itchy skin or redness on or around your nipple
• a change in the appearance of your nipple, such as becoming sunken into your breast

If you notice a change that isn’t normal for you, you should always contact your GP.
